I also have mice. I breed hobbies and have recently added some brindles. I have had mice for a few years nows and they are very sweet and lovely to own. They're not dirty, and are lot of fun to watch.
A hobby mouse is simply one that is a pet. The mice I breed as hobby have come from show lines and so are of nice size and have show like fetures. I do this for two reasons. One: I personally think they look prettier! Two: when handeling you don't want mice with thin tails that you can't keep ahold of.
The brindles are a very rare variety of mouse in the UK. And I am very pleased to help the numbers rise. Due to their genetics they are hard to breed as very few can be born in a litter.
